Boat Waiver
Assumption of Risk and Complete Release of Liability & Damages
Anyone docking or mooring a personal vessel at Greens Ledge Lighthouse must agree to the following and legally accept these conditions by completing the form below:
I understand that the purpose of signing this document is to exempt and release Greens Ledge Light Preservation Society (“GLLPS”) and all associated personnel and to hold these parties harmless from any and all liabilities arising as a consequence of the use of the Lighthouse Dock and/or adjacent mooring.
I acknowledged that GLLPS has offered free transportation to and from the Lighthouse, and I have opted instead to use a personal vessel. I understand that GLLPS highly recommends utilizing the free transportation option due, in part, to the risk of boat damage.
I understand that the Lighthouse is exposed to highly volatile sea and wind conditions, and is exposed to significant wake conditions from unrestricted boat traffic. The Lighthouse is not protected by a “No Wake Zone.” I have not relied on the forecast of GLLPS and I am fully responsible for monitoring weather and sea conditions.
I understand that boats docked or moored at the Lighthouse – including vessels that were properly secured and protected by fenders - routinely sustain damage, including at least one instance of complete hull loss, and at least one instance of a boat coming untied from the mooring.
I assume full legal responsibility for any and all damages and liabilities that result as a consequence of these activities. This would include salvage costs, damage to other boats or structures, or personal injury that can result from a boat coming untied from the Lighthouse dock or mooring.
