Thanks to donors and volunteers, the Lighthouse is nearing the completion of a critical restoration. We’ve now launched the “Next 100 Years” – a campaign that seeks to endow the long-term preservation of the Lighthouse through a focus on Education, Community, and Sustainability.

Greens Ledge Light Preservation Society is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to restore and preserve Greens Ledge Lighthouse - a historic and iconic symbol of the Darien and Rowayton communities.
Because of your support, the Lighthouse has a future. With the most urgent restoration work complete - and with considerable preservation efforts still needed in the years ahead - we’ve launched the “Next 100 Years” – a programming and fundraising campaign that seeks to endow the long-term preservation of the Lighthouse.
We are seeking Event Sponsors at levels from $2,500 up to $25,000. Sponsor packages include ticket packages to the event, an invitation to the pre-event VIP lighthouse tour, and prominent features of your name and/or logo across our event marketing – before, during, and after the event.
As a "Light the Night" sponsor, you have the opportunity to showcase your product or service, while supporting the preservation and future of an iconic landmark of our local community.
Launch the Next 100 Years
The “Next 100 Years” envisions the Lighthouse as a “community asset” - an active beacon of education and community, which revives the functionality and relevance of the Lighthouse to keep the light shining for generations to come.
But we are missing a key component to make the “Next 100 Years” vision truly sustainable: a launch vessel to replace the expensive third-party charters and our aging workboats.
At Light the Night 2025, we are seeking to fully fund the acquisition of a launch boat with world-class capabilities and safety features to meet the unique challenges inherent in providing access to an offshore lighthouse.
Scheduled for commissioning in 2026, the aluminum vessel is Coast Guard-certified to transport 20 passengers to the Lighthouse from the Darien and Norwalk coastline, and has unique beach landing capability, enabling passenger pick-up from local beaches along public parks and clubs.
The vessel also has capabilities to facilitate marine research and education, and to function as a multi-purpose workboat to support future restoration work – functioning as an adjacent “community asset.”
To showcase its incredible capabilities, we’ve again chartered the RV Rutgers – a Munson research vessel - to run cruises around the Lighthouse during the Light the Night event for all attendees. Ticket Packages also include VIP Passes to join a Pre-Event Tour of the Lighthouse.
